Graduation 2009

I think this would be the most likely place no one in my family would read. but I wanted to give a few words to the dedication of my sister who helped me get to this picture this day. she was kind enough 2 years ago to help me pay for school. it was a shock as the deal involved me moving 2000+ miles away from home to do so, in tears i packed my thing knowing that graduating from college would be important. and today i finished. although i did miss cum laude by a few half points i feel i did pretty good considering i had weather and culture shock. I'm okay with my 3.486 GPA, considering i didn't really try for any honors at any point in college. maybe for my masters I'll care a bit more.. back to my sister, she fought really hard and worked really hard today, and to see her face and her excitement of taking pictures makes me really glad that she's my sister. she was my only family member and I'm glad she was there as she was the only person who cared enough to make sure i finished. being the first in my family to graduate from college wasn't a big thing to me as it should have been, but when i see how proud my sister is of me, i know i didn't do it just for me but more for her. i can also feel that my sister who is watching from somewhere above is happy as well because i didn't fall on stage, I'm sure she was happy and has been watching my graduations since hs. i sure miss her.

okay... as i wipe the tears from my face, a note to everyone to believe in not only yourself but in the people who love you and will sacrifice for you. they may not always be your parents so remember and say thanks and make them proud. its been a long journey in my education career and I'm very happy with what I've done with what was dealt to me in the last 9 years. i hope to continue making my sister proud and letting her know she has made a big contribution to my future and i wont forget that.
